I have degrees in art history and one of my courses was Women in Art with Pam DeCouteou(sp) at Southern Illinois U in Edwardsville. She introduced me to Artemisia many years ago and I have never forgotten how much Artemisia had to go thru in order to do her ART. She has given me much confidence in knowing how to get thru whatever necessary to do what I want/need to do in my art career. Several years ago the St. Louis Art Museum had her and her father's paintings shown together and it was amazing to see the similarity in certain techniques attached to both of them. Like father-like daughter!!! She has led many of us "women in art" to follow our dreams due to her persistance. Boy, was she stubborn!!!
